COCOA MILK IMPERIAL STOUT
ZATMENIE
ABV 12% IBU 60 OG 27.0 °P
These days few people remember, but back in 2015 there was an astronomical phenomenon in St. Petersburg that changed the colour of the Winter Palace, the Neva and everything around. That year, we released a craft variety in its honour – it's become dear to our hearts and went on to make no less noise here in the city than at festivals across Europe. It's about time to bring back Zatmeniye, Russian for "eclipse."

It's ready all over again to delight, scare and stir up a few more than a few complicated emotions. This imperial stout's gotten stronger with a proof raised to 12% and a bitterness lowered to 60 IBU. The already dense coffee and chocolate flavour's been enhanced by Colombian cocoa and vanilla pods. More density, thickness and a new creamy tinge.

EGOISTE
ABV 8.5% IBU 50 OG 20 °P
The ego: part of the personality's multifaceted nature. It's responsible for, among other things, planning and evaluation. If we assume that a style determines the character of a beer, then the contemporary, dark IPA can certainly be called an egoist. After all, he hogs all the attention in a room.

Hazy Imperial IPA with intense fruity aroma, rich citrus flavor and a pleasant minimum bitterness. Eldorado, Amarillo and Mosaic brightly reveal against the background of a confident fortress. The proportion of wheat malt adds more balance and softness to the structure. The middle between hipster hop burns and a classic, orthodox bitterness.

BARLEY WINE
BREAK YA NECK
ABV 12% IBU 38 OG 28 °P
Here's another piece of news from our stretch of the craft world, soaked through with our New Year's tradition of producing heavy varieties. Introducing a classic, even orthodox barleywine with a proof that drives off any and all vestiges of chill or frostbite.
Its dark, amber colour shimmers in the light of a clear day as much as in a dusky bar, with the aroma of dried fruit and fresh caramel coming right off the bottle itself. Its powerful taste doesn't settle for neither a cloying, malty sweetness nor even the noble bitterness of the hops, instead creating a powerful, unexpected impression layer by layer. If you're one for building momentum, for soaking in the rush of the moment, feel free to hold your breath as the world around you starts jiving to the rhythm of the music in you. Feel yourself let go as the vibe moves all the way through your consciousness.

MARIS OTTER BARLEY WINE
SHOW & PROVE
ABV 11% IBU 40 OG 27.0°P
As they said in an immortal film from back in the nineties: boxers, unlike wine, don't get better with age. We don't know if this applies to everyone, but some cultural symbols are definitely here to stay. For example, there's the enduring appeal of the old school, and not only when it comes to music – we're thinking of malts.

The British Maris Otter is definitely old school, so we used it to whip up a vintage barleywine that evokes the sweet nostalgia of better times. Caramel notes, with hints of barberry, show off the strengths of a classic barley. A decent dryness with a light, hoppy bitterness proves that, while some things change, others will always be in style.

WHEAT WINE
HIT EM UP
ABV 10% IBU 35 OG 27 °P
You can't find a more traditional holiday in Russia than New Year. Signs and wonders are plucked from every glass, and you'll find playful superstitions even on the most progressive lips. In these, the first days counting down once more from 365, we've established our own tradition: releasing a barleywine or a play on the form. 2019 is no exception, so get ready to meet the 'wheat wine' Hit 'Em Up!

A rather generous helping of wheat malt, obvious given the style, gives an expected, creamy softness to round out the dryness. We diluted both its high density and light sweetness with synths of hoppy bitterness, and we've layered dried fruit and caramel notes to add aroma and taste. Even at our latitude, each sip of its heat will waft your thoughts away to the west coast.

GALAXY & EL DORADO NE IPA
OPPORTUNIST
ABV 6.5% IBU 38 OG 16.0 °P
We're expanding our line of hazy, hoppy and fruit-filled IPAs. Taking advantage of a broad choice of yeast and hops, our latest brew is already looking quite the opportunist. That, and you can't mistake it for either the orthodox types of a century ago, the scrappy brews of the 70's or even the picks from just two years ago. Even so, those three cherished, abbreviated letters are always the same. This time we've honed the recipe with a mix of American hops, giving a powerful surge to its aroma. Lactose adds a light sweetness, once again emphasizing the juiciness of citrus and tropical flavours. Trends change – IPAs remain.

FARMHOUSE ALE WITH HIBISCUS
NATURAL BORN
CHILLERS
ABV 6.7% IBU No OG 15.0 °P
Urban spaces capture, for the most part, a single, monotonous style – but sometimes it gives way to its vibrant opposite: a strong, all-consuming sense of colour. In taste and degree it maintains the rhythm of a metropolis, filling the streets with missing fruit or bringing an unmistakable sweetness to the concrete jungle. We decided to take a break and replace fussy, hoppy urbanism and imperial pathos with a serene, rural spirit that calls people in with rhythm and tranquility.
Returning to the roots, we settled on a farmhouse ale fermented with two Belgian strains of yeast. Wheat malt gives it a calming softness, and a dash of hibiscus adds a light touch. The spiced aroma of fresh hay layers rustic tones onto the palate.

CHRISTMAS WHEAT STOUT

ABV 6.9% IBU 22 OG 18.0 °P
You can tell December's here just by noticing how, all over Europe, spiced Christmas flavours are slowly taking over. While the western part of the continent might be dressing it's cities up to the nines, the eastern part's marked mostly by a more relaxed atmosphere. The days are chilly and our breath's already frozen, but since we want our spirits to be brighter than our sweaters we decided to line the delicate structure of wheat stout with some cardamom and nutmeg. It turned out quite cozy: creamy banana tones wrapped in a coffee and caramel aftertaste, all suffused with New Year spices. It's time for the Tweekend.

NE IPA
UTOPIST
ABV 7.2% IBU 40 OG 17.0 °P
In all likelihood, our current period will be called the "golden age of the NE IPA," with eccentrically-shaped glasses across five continents being transformed into a take on Campanella's City of the Sun. After some thought, we decided to dream up an original, double dry-hopped New England IPA according to the venerable canons of the genre: with yeast brought over by sea. Simple by design but far from simple-minded in structure, this is an IPA with rich, fruity layers thanks to Galaxy, El Dorado and Centennial. It may not entirely be utopia in a can, but this brew looks for perfection with all it's got.

The global move toward modern, dark brews has meant that some time-tested styles are forgotten and gather dust in some back-alley corner of the mind. Keeping in mind that there's nothing truly new under the sun, even the hoppy dust collecting on these classic ideas acquires a golden hue and something downright magical. Thus it was that we breathed new life into the Weizen Bock, which had a hazy structure long before we thought to throw in New England yeast. Its wheaty body combines with Mosaic Lupulin for a juicy result: banana-clove notes complemented by a light, hoppy bitterness. Its rich, amber colour is infused with a thick layer of fruit and citrus taste – so swallow your pride and order a pint.

SMOKED HELLES
SMOKE
ABV 5% IBU 20 OG 11.0 °P
Don't ever stop saying smoked varieties are where it's at. They're imbued with the spirit of experimentation and a hint of the rebel. To top off on that, we decided to, well, "burn" our lager by brewing helles on Bamberg malts. Smoke from beech kindling comes off its surface, and you can't mistake the smoky aftertaste, but at the same time it's kept the lightest and freshest parts of the best traditional ales. Just with a bit of a twist. This one's for everyone bored of citrus and exotic fruits. No American hops here.

ABV 6.5% IBU 28 OG 15.0 °P
We love when people dream big – think complex schemes at an impressive scale. That said, though, sometimes we want something simple. Accessible, yeah, but not primitive or a drag. So we took a full palette of caramel malts and brewed a vanilla brown ale with an invigorating whiff of coffee. We couldn't help but think of it as a dessert: caramel and vanilla mixed through with nut syrup and a background of barberry candies. Slightly bitter, like a morning espresso, and more than strong enough for autumn.

Along with their busy, summer white nights, the Baltic expanses are famous for their polar, winter opposite. These long, impenetrable, mysterious north-western nights have a charm only darkness can bring. Think the pleasure of being alone with yourself. All this in mind, we brewed up an imperial Baltic porter to keep you company with this season. Dense and thick, like the black northern sky, with deep notes of coffee and chocolate. Shades of iris bring out a subtle, blink-and-you'll-miss-it sweetness. The classic aroma of burnt malts is complemented by hints of cocoa, and the proof keeps the imagination warm.

A subtle echo of roasted malts, an explosion of pine needles, a dry bitterness and the colour of highway pitch. Three classic hop types (Columbus, Centennial and Citra) lose themselves in its thick, black colour.

ABV 8% IBU 33 OG 18.0 °P
They say that, when you put your ear to the brewing tank, you can hear the yeast making noise. We couldn't resist testing it out for ourselves. So, when we decided to whip up this Doppel Kölsch, we went classic and used a traditional strain of yeast from White Labs in Copenhagen. We even threw in a dry hopping of Citra and Mosaic to up the ante. Sure, so maybe we didn't catch those mysterious sounds, but all the same we ended up with a moderately dry and unusually strong Kölsch with a citrus & fruity aroma as well as a light, hoppy bitterness. If you don't hear anything, make some noise yourself.

AMERICAN PORTER
DEGOT
ABV 6.5% IBU 35 OG 16.0 °P
Another round of piercing winds and cold sun is upon us, so we thought to brew up a special something just for the season: a porter.

Usually porters are a sweet kind of draft, but this time we decided to experiment with bitterness. And there wasn't a doubt in our minds about hopping our brew with American hops. Our take on this classic gave us a porter with a thick, black colour, like water in a night canal, with familiar choco-coffee notes running alongside a hoppy bitterness.

Whether you were catching the shade under some trees, or sitting on a beach, or waiting it out at a cafe terrace, at some point we've all cooled off with some creme brulé. We don't know for sure if the dessert's connected with the French Hellenists, Cambridge or the Duke of Orleans' kitchen, but that didn't stop us from using the recipe as the basis for milkshakes specially made for hop fans. The secret? Milk and vanilla, heated to a boiling point.
Brulé is a creamy milkshake pale ale with the colour of straw and a silky sweetness complemented by the hoppy tones of Mosaic and Citra. We've brought out the taste even more with a dollop of spicy vanilla, and Brule's silky texture is thanks to a helping of oat flakes. For us, the inhabitants of our dear, near-sunless St. Petersburg, this kind of aesthetic hits close to home. So we decided to replicate it with this namesake brew.
An unobtrusive milk stout, not unlike Hollywood detectives from the mid-20th century, loaded with a charm brought out by reserves of coconut shavings. Noir totes a classic, creamy smoothness layered with notes of chocolate, tropical nuts and the unsuspecting, restrained power of bitter burnt malts.

Before the onset of our confused, glitterati era, back when ales from different parts of the world stole the stage like old-school gymnasts, there was a glorious time when brew recipes that had otherwise faded into summer were restored. Many of these craft varieties were still used, but their histories rarely, truly surfaced.
In places like Untapped, for example, we've seen the mighty Lichtenhainer rise like a phoenix from the ashes. All smoked and sour ale, its true potential has never been fully tested. Our lips still remember the taste of Agnieszka, and Grodzisk will remain forever in our hearts, and so we couldn't help reproducing this classic style from the regions of southeastern Germany.

Taking advantage of the Russian language's ambiguities, we turned to the word skrepy when it came to brewing a strong, spiced and smoky barley wine. Untranslatable, the term comes close to "the ties that bind." This smoked chilli barleywine itself ties together different wavelengths, from the spiritual to the soulful, and leads to long nights deep in thought.
